PUPQC’S FIRST VIRTUAL STUDENT RESEARCH CONFERENCE
Project CREATE: Cultivating the Culture of Research Engagement Towards Data-driven Academic Endeavors

Objectives
Conduct an event that will cater the research works of the studentry of PUP Quezon City students that tackles various industries ranging from business, education, humanities, marketing, consumer behavior, policy recommendations, human resource, enterprise, and technological advancement for the last two years.
Provide an academic platform for the aspiring PUP Quezon City student researchers to be guided with the latest research trends under the reinforcement of media literacy.
Establish a healthy, active, sustainable, competitive, and impactful to society kind of research community within PUP Quezon City
Be guided by the intertwining concepts of media literacy and journalism in enabling critical academic writers.
Partner with concerned academic, non-academic, journalistic organizations and National Youth Commission that will foster the culture of refinement among student researchers.
Activity/Event Narrative
This initiative served as a platform where students of PUP Quezon City learned from both local and international keynote speakers during the plenary session on Day 1 while chosen student-authors were given the privilege to present their research papers in the field of education and business on Day 2.
Along with presentation of research papers, the PUPQC-SSC in collaboration with Vox Nova also prepared a plenary session on April 11, 2022 via Zoom Platform and Facebook Live. Program moderators commenced the celebration by playing an audio visual presentation for Invocation and the National Anthem followed by the opening remarks delivered by the PUPQC-SSC President, Ms. Jennylyn Balaoro and an inspiration message from PUPQC Director, Assoc. Prof. Edgardo S. Delmo.
The first keynote speaker, representative of R&D Committee of the OSR, Mr. Lawrence Parmisana delivered his discussion about Research in the Academe. He gave tips on conducting research and answered the questions of the participants afterwards. He was awarded a certificate of recognition followed by an intermission number by Project Groovers before proceeding to the next speaker. The second speaker is from Indonesia, Hon. Mouva Putri Ramadhita, an assistant editor on third International Conference on Law Studies. Ms. Mouva Putri Rama delivered her discussion about Research in the Academe. She also gave tips on conducting research and answered the questions of the participants afterwards. After her discussion, she was awarded by a certificate of recognition and the third speaker was introduced. He was Mr. Jerome B. Vitug, an editorial assistant/writer from the Vibal Group Inc. He emphasized the importance of Media Literacy particularly fact-checking as a good research practice. The open forum was conducted after the discussion which followed by the certificate of recognition to the third and last keynote speaker. To conclude the day one of the event, photo opportunity with the speakers and participants are taken.
The Project CREATE Day 2 started with an interfaith prayer followed by a quick Day 1 recap presented by Ms. Jen Balaoro, Chair of Project CREATE. The selection criteria for the best paper and best paper presenter award was presented by the COL Secretary, Ms. Kristine Casaños followed by an introduction of the paper critic, Prof. Resty Samosa. The presentation of research was started with the group of Mr. Bonie Latagan, next in line is the group of Ms. Sharon Rose Gabriel, followed by the group Ms. Michelle Delos Reyes. Fourth presenter was from the group of Ms. Jenella Mae Parizal and lastly, the group of Mr. Jay Alcomendas. During the deliberation, a compilation of special number from different student organizations was presented. The awarding session was led by Project CREATE Chair, Ms. Jennylyn Balaoro. The Best Paper Award was given to the third Paper Presentation from HRM Business field with a title “Unfolding the experience of PWD employees in BPO companies around NCR” and at the same time, Ms. Michelle Delos Reyes, as the Best presenter of Paper #3, won the Best Paper Presenter Award. The Project CREATE was formally concluded with the closing remarks of Mr. Ralph Joseph Tuazon, the Vox Nova EIC and project Create Vice Chair. This was successfully followed by the singing of PUP Hymn.
